Movie companies who fight against piracy READ THIS (7647 views)

admin
Here's a business model for you, fools.

1. Create a really nice movie.
2. Put hidden ads inside your movie, like a brand new iPhone X, new Mercedes... whatever of the main character of the movie.
3. Let pirates spread it all over the Internet.
4. Profit.

Don't fight against piracy. Just use it wisely. smiley

Dr. Evil.
P.S. Merry Christmas smiley

@PureVodka🍺 I was going to ask Dr.Evil, seriously, could we serious pirates put a youtube video together, stating the VIRTUES of movie pirating? And explain how it helps movies, not hurts them?? Be very convincing?Would that work?

@clarachan1355 Don't know, you will have to ask. smiley

@clarachan1355 Having movies available to watch (for free) from the internet, creates more sales of movies. I'll explain:
I won't buy a DVD unless I watch the movie first.
I download off the internet,
if I like it, I buy it.
If I can't watch it first (from TV, checking it out of a library, downloading it from the internet), I won't buy it.

@baileyvoss Years back i read a comment where someone said if they like the film (after watching on a film site), they will go to the Cinema and watch it.

@baileyvoss Yes I too agree A good movie to watch is magic on the big screen and this is what we do. Can not afford to waste money on poor movie. Like the one I did watch of Sandra Bullock what a disappointment. Would have cost me a fortune at the cinema for rubbish.

Why not prosecute anybody pirating or providing access to pirated movies?

news media has shown it's corruption by ignoring some facts to facilitate a narrative. by that measure, entertainment media is no different and its why there is such unbridled access to anyone with a pc or other device who wants it. sure, they've long been using product placement as a matter of course. yet they're often selling a narrative as well; social values and political ideals are quite common, they'll practically hit people over the head with those until people either react or [eventually] disconnect any regard for it.

@unbound YES,I agree, smiley and poorer people cannot pay the high costs of entertainment now.YOU KNOW WHY TV WAS SO GREAT? smiley IT WAS FREE!anyone could get it!NOW,you pay for JUNK!WE SENIORS see this,we think its SHIT. smiley --it cuts out ALL LOWER INCOME FOLKS!AND the huge fat corporations know this!--so I don't think "piracy"is a crime!Consider it a"income-re-adjustment." smiley smiley smileyPuppetmaster, that is why piracy ain't a real crime.Monopolies are!

Anyone want to debate me on this subject further,I will look up "illegal-monopoly laws"on the U.S. BOOKS. THE REASON OUR BIG FAT MONOPOLIES GET AWAY WITH BREAKING THESE LAWS, is,they are bribing the Hell out of congress, senate, and our fat, rich, corrupt politicians!!"Lobbyists" do this.--Yes,those very fat corporations, that are screaming about "pirates breaking the law" are breaking monopoly laws on the legal books!!

Anyone want to bet me?I'll do it,I'll try to research this online(there are also law school libraries at the university in town. They let you "browse the reference files- books", i'm an Alumni.)

I love a challenge!! smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley

Im no genius but it seems to me the same companies that make and distribute movies also own the tv networks and cable companies. Wbich means internet providers, they break the anti trust laws every minute and even if you download a movie your paying the same people for your internet. They got it all sowed up tight. I dont wanna debate intellectual property rights, but as long as you dont profit screw it.

+2

@pizzaguy666 exactly;"they are breaking anti-trust laws."--so pirates have to figure out,how to use that:"Do a class action lawsuit, where you got several attorneys, for a group of people, and sue the monopoly for millions?--that
's one idea. (2.) blackmail the monopoly?and tell them"we can give the courts your monopoly case, or you can ignore out piracy"?(3.)do an anonymous video on youtube exposing all that to the public?and hungry litigators?and the fed,?(of course they know,)yeah, USE IT AGAINST THEM.-

-BUT HOW is the best way??how would work the best way, for pirates?

@clarachan1355 Sounds like a lot of work, not disagreeing with you. As long as average people subscribe to multiple media services, and waste their money, we can enjoy the internet.

Remember napster? Metallica can kiss my ass. All that uproar was a put on. Also thats about the same time in history rock and roll dudes became artists. Phooey,

@pizzaguy666 The worst hypocrisy about metallica going after napster.
When they started out, they got no radio play , their initial fan base copied cassettes and spread them out among their circle of friends . Increasing their popularity as a direct result of illegal music sharing which made them millionaires

Product placements have been used since the earliest days - even featuring in silent films.

The concept has a few major drawbacks though. Brands might not always want to be associated with a film's content, leading to a severe lack of artistic fredom; and it's doubtful even a vast number of placements alone will be enough to cover the huge budgets modern films like to use.

As long as companies seeking to maximise profit are involved it's going to be hard to leave the current business model in the past where it belongs.

Merry Christmas smiley

OK, DID I mention this one?"Figure out a legal way to break the copy right,so you are legally showing the movies."

This is an example;years ago,i got a paperback on"the legal stuff for artists."It told me stuff like"you don't have to pay taxes on your art job,if you deliver the work job, over a modem."-

-AND THIS ONE"HOW TO BREAK THE COPYRIGHT AND USE THAT ART."(1.)Take the sheet of art,and do this.;xerox and copy the art work.(2.)use the copy of the art,and do a "revision form"of it,change something in the design or picture."paint, draw, color,it is now not the same art.(3.)NOW, make a copy, xerox,of the revised art;it is now WITHOUT THE COPY RIGHT,its no longer the original art,it is legal to use it.

THAT is a good way,to take copyright off a film;find a way around the copyright, LEGALLY, ON TECHNICALITY.Look at the exact law, tech wise on a movie.NOW,WHAT ARE THE TECHNICAL WAYS, TO BREAK THE COPYRIGHT?COPY THE FILM,CHANGE SOMETHING IN IT(EXTRA DIALOGUE AT THE END,YOU PUT IN?

FIGURE OUT, how to manipulate your copy of film,so technically the copyright is not on it.GET A LEGAL EXPERT(there are hungry lawyers around)THERE MUST BE SIMILAR WAYS ON FILMS ALSO.--OF COURSE there are--big companies are breaking art copyrights right and left--HOW DO THEY DO IT!?YOU CAN BET they have found ways--just like the book on art law, told me to send art job to the employer, over a modem to avoid paying tax on my job money.

THAT IS THE BEST THING TO DO---START LOOKING FOR REAL WAYS to break film or video copyrights, made by a big company. ATTORNIES do this alla time,"loopholes"(especially very advantages ones hard to over turn) the laws have, and THIS ONE CAN BE BROKEN ALSO.

You don't have to be an attorney(I am not,i just found that art copyright in legal laws for artists.)But,once you've been looking at the law, technically,if you find loopholes, there are law websites to consult.--or once you've found loopholes, GET LEGAL ADVICE ON IT."Nolo Press" has books for we non lawyers also.very handy--if you are near any university with a legal dept., ask them, look up reference books on "film or video law."--Often you can get some knowledge.

Personally I think the amount of years there is still copyright on a movie is way to long. I got a copyright notice for a movie I put up on youtube. It was made in 1929... Still copyright. If older vintage movies where in the public domain, people who have no money could have something to watch too. And legally too. More than 30 years of copyright on something is absolutely crazy. If you haven't made your money then, I guess you never will!

Ofcourse If you pirate a 2018 movie that's just 2 months old, I can understand you try to fight back.

If there was something like the old netflix, with way more movies, something like two-movies where you can watch almost everything, and you would have to pay a few bucks a month, I would. For sure. But that's me, coming from one of the richest countries in the world. How about some african, south american country? Do you think people there can afford to spend 20 us dollars a new movie? I guess not.

So piracy is just necessary for people without or with very little money. I just do it because I am lazy and there is way more choice...

In Canada, filesharing is legal and we all get charged a levy to fileshare. It is viewed the same as taping someone for a friend or making a mixtape. Even with that, people still buy many copies of movies. And the ad thing sounds good, that's how Facebook makes a lot of money.

There's already ads in movies. They get a product n just place it in the actors hands or even just beside them. It's called product placement.

cANADA IS LEGAL ON FILE SHARING? WOW--any way we can use that?OK, when is sharing"not file sharing but joining with your family to share as family"? smiley smiley smiley smiley
smiley
IF WE ARE ALL FAMILY, like we anoint the site as "a religious family",can we all watch the movie together?its no longer file sharing its"being together w/yer family with a film." smiley
smiley
OK CAN WE REGISTER FORMALLY AS A RELIGION?OUR RELIGION IS"a huge family together, watching a movie together--and its our religion!"I am going to look it up--this is serious. smiley smiley

LOOK AT the crazy real religion of weird sicko that exists legally they force kids to sell flowers in the snow.--and that religion is legal!they abuse kids legally!SO WHY CAN'T WE GET AWAY WITH BEING A RELIGION?its our belief system--our family. We BELIEVE IN BEING A FAMILY that worships films, together,as free films, and believes in Hollywood!WHY IsN'T that Holy? We have a minister, Dr, Evil.We have COMMANDMENTS (RULES) we follow. There are commandments we cannot do! smiley

--and we have SPIRITUAL BELIEFS!We believe in saving money.--that entertainment is FREE FROM GOD--CEOS of movie companies are our GODS,or POPES/. smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley (our family food popcorn.)

@clarachan1355 Now that is a religion that I can get into!!! Let's start it up if anyone knows how and lets all be a big "Family" and watch movies together!!! AWESOME!!!

Over the years most of the super sized companies have been caught using subliminal messaging. Pepsi, Coke,Several alcohol and tobacco companies, Even Nike. pepsi was fined a few hundred thousand dollars just a few years ago for subliminal messaging on the superbowl show during halftime. I wonder how many millions of dollars they made off of a few frames inserted saying when you are thirsty drink pepsi cola.
